My most memorable teaching of my Grandmother was to always remain close to all that is glorious – to my soul. She reminded me to be true to the Almighty, the Chieftan, our sacred Peyote medicine.
My Grandmother taught me also to know that the best action we can take in today’s times is faithful prayer. In this new CD I sing and pray faithfully for you and for her. My intention through my music (my prayers) is to help all people – especially now in our most important time of need.
My Grandmother, Mary Pete Nelson was also a “Gold Star” mother. That is, she lost her own son, Walter Nelson of the Navajo Nation, to WWII. Walter was officially declared missing in Action by the Department of Veterans Affairs.
My Grandmother’s dream was to see her son Walter again in this life. She knew his spirit was in this world and would return to her. Unfortunately old age took her life at 108 years. I know now they are together and her spirit lives on in me and in this “Land of Many Moccasins”.
May love and peace be with you as you enjoy my music. And may you remember my Grandmother’s sentiments and know and respect the sacred peyote medicine which reveals to us many wondrous mysteries.
Open your heart. Reawaken your spirit, as I have, to the eternal.
