My name is Janelle Turtle (big water clan), Navajo and Southern Cheyenne. I reside in Bellingham, Washington with my daughter, McClovia and sons, Silas and Emerson.I give acclamation to my father, Nelson and Uncle Art, who sat next me with the drum when I first sang in a Peyote meeting and my father, for instilling his knowledge into my life.The inspirations and directions I received from my uncles, Bill and Wayne Turtle. I’ll always cherish in my heart and hope to pass this wisdom on to my children and others.I am truly blessed with all my wonderful relatives who have always encouraged me with their songs and their teachings from when I started my travels on the road of life.I also like to acknowledge my family and friends serving in the Armed Forces.
